Ramon Gener and the secrets of Carmen
Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía will host a lecture by Ramon Gener on Carmen, the iconic opera by Georges Bizet, on 16 September 2026. The event, scheduled for 19:30 in the Auditori, is part of the centre’s 2026-2027 musical outreach programme and is free to attend.

Ramon Gener, renowned for his work as a populariser in programmes such as This is Opera and 200: Una noche en el Prado, will explore the key aspects of Carmen: its plot, characters, historical context, and the music that made it one of the world’s most performed operas. The lecture is designed for anyone, regardless of their knowledge of opera. No advance tickets are required, but early arrival is recommended in case the venue reaches capacity.
