A collective analysis of the DANA
On 21 September 2026, the Col·legi Major Rector Peset at the University of Valencia will host the round table No oblidem la DANA, a space to reflect on the consequences of the cold drop that struck the Valencian Community in September 2019. The event, free to attend, will bring together diverse profiles to address the issue from complementary perspectives: the direct experience of victims, the technical approach of urban planners, and the social outlook of NGOs.
Participants and approaches
The debate will feature Mariló Gradolí, a resident of Catarroja and DANA victim, who will share her testimony. Alongside her, Cristina Moreno, municipal architect from Aldaia, will analyse the role of urban planning in risk prevention, while Paola García, a social educator from the NGO Entreculturas, will provide a humanitarian perspective. Xavier Arnau, an urban geographer from Manises, will close the interventions with a territorial analysis. The moderator will be Francesc La-Roca, a member of the Fundació Nova Cultura de l’Aigua, an organisation promoting sustainable water management.
No prior registration is required, but seating is limited. More information about the venue and how to get there can be found on the Col·legi Major Rector Peset’s page.
