Art and activism in the tenth edition
The X Cicle Escèniques Cuir celebrates its tenth anniversary at Carme Teatre with a programme that blends performing arts and critical thought. From 16 to 27 September 2026, the cycle offers a space to reflect on how illness, disability, desire and housing exclusion intersect in bodies. Organised by Carme Teatre in collaboration with the DISSIDENTS association, this edition brings together dance, theatre and performance works that seek to "name the wound with precision"—from HIV stigma to gender-based violence—to imagine other possible ways of living.
Highlights of the programme
The cycle kicks off on 16 September with an institutional opening at 16:00, followed by the poetry session Alba Agni (17:00-18:30). Over the two weeks, the programme includes:
- Performances: Pieces such as «La Carn» (closing the cycle on 27 September) or «Bipedestrucción», which explore the deconstruction of identities and masculinities.
- Talks and debates: Featuring creators like Aleksandar Georgiev (El Gé Teatro) and Tomás Pintos, with discussions on body, technology and affect.
- Workshops: Activities like «Cuerpo e identidad» (led by Àngel Duran) or «Construcción de una quimera en movimiento» (by Disiden-Cía).
All tickets are sold out, as confirmed by official sources at Carme Teatre.
Participating artists
Among the over thirty artists and collectives taking part in the cycle are:
- Disiden-Cía (dance and performance company).
- Aurel·lio Delgado (contemporary dance).
- Candela Mora (performance and LGBTI activism).
- Dani Orviz (physical theatre).
- Colectivo Glovo (art and technology).
The cycle’s intersectional approach—connecting the artistic with the political—has made it a benchmark in Valencia’s scene since its first edition in 2016.
