Latin Jazz at Jardí Botànic
On 26 September 2026, the Auditori Joan Plaça at the Jardí Botànic of the Universitat de València will host a double concert as part of the Voluntari Jazz series. The Afro-Cuban Combo and Nave-Latin Ensemble, founded by saxophonist Alexey León and pianist Fede Crespo, will perform a repertoire blending Afro-Cuban jazz, Caribbean rhythms, and contemporary arrangements.
Alexey León, born in Cuba and based in Europe, is renowned for his work in preserving Afro-Cuban traditions while exploring new sounds. Fede Crespo brings his expertise in composition and arrangements, having collaborated with international artists. Together, they’ve developed projects that bridge Cuban musical heritage with Mediterranean and European influences.
This event is part of the Voluntari Jazz cycle, organised by Sedajazz to celebrate volunteering through music. The series runs until December 2026 and includes other highlights such as the Batalla de Big Bands (12 September) and the Latino Blanco Quartet concert (24 October).
