The Speedways: the return of a modern classic
The Speedways aren’t a band that needs reinventing. Their proposition is clear: British power pop with the essence of the great songwriters of the 70s and 80s, like Nick Lowe, Elvis Costello or the Ramones. Three-minute songs, catchy melodies and lyrics that connect instantly. On 23 September 2026, the band will perform at the Loco Club, a venue that has become their Valencian home after years of memorable gigs.
A gig that’s never the same twice
While their setlist includes tracks like Listen to Her Heart, Secret Secrets or Dead from the Heart Down, The Speedways manage to make every show sound unique. Their live energy is one of their trademarks: Matt Julian (vocals and guitar), Mauro Venegas (lead guitar) and Adrian Alfonso (bass) prove why they’re one of the most beloved bands on the European indie circuit. It’s no coincidence that Loco Club books them year after year: their music fills venues without the need for big promotional campaigns.
