Maruja: A fusion of post-punk, free jazz and rap in Valencia
Maruja, a band formed in the UK, will perform at 16 Toneladas (Carrer de Ricardo Micó, 3, Valencia) on Wednesday 26 August 2026. Their music blends post-punk, free jazz, rap and psychedelic sounds, with lyrics tackling social and spiritual themes. The four-piece group has gained international recognition, including coverage on BBC 6 Music and performances at festivals like SXSW, as well as tours across North America, Japan and China.
In 2024, the band toured 24 countries and is currently working on their debut album under the Music For Nations label. This concert is part of their new phase, where they will showcase their live act, known for improvisation and an energetic stage presence.
