On this page

On 13 September 2026, 16 Toneladas will host Kate Clover, one of the most iconic figures in Los Angeles’ underground punk rock scene. With a career forged in the West Coast’s alternative circuit, Clover arrives in Valencia for a one-of-a-kind show, where garage punk, hard-hitting riffs, and an uncompromising attitude will take centre stage. Part of her European tour, this gig is one of the few chances for audiences to experience her raw energy live.

From Piano Keys to Punk Rock

Kate Clover’s musical journey began at the age of five, when her hands first glided over piano keys. Yet it was the guitar and punk rock that ultimately defined her path. The first song she learned, Chinese Rocks by Johnny Thunders & The Heartbreakers, wasn’t a random choice: a garage punk track with powerful riffs and an unrestrained vocal delivery that shaped her style. "I still didn’t understand what any of it meant," Clover reflects on her connection to the counterculture. "I was drawn to the rebellion I felt I shared with the subjects in those photos."

Those images, captured by photographer Glen E. Friedman in his book Fuck You Heroes, depicted the essence of 80s and 90s punk rock: sweat, beer, and music without limits. For Clover, those photos were a revelation. "I found my place," she recalls. Weekends at the beach turned into nights of gigs, where adrenaline and a sense of belonging to an artistic community drove her deeper into the music scene. After playing in several local bands, Clover established her voice as a solo artist, bringing that same energy that inspired her in the beginning to the stage.

A Raw Live Experience in Valencia

The show at 16 Toneladas promises a night of pure punk rock. Clover is known for her intense live performances, where the music flows without filters and the audience becomes part of the experience. Her style, influenced by bands like Black Flag and X, blends garage punk with classic rock and roll, creating a raw and authentic sound. For this gig, the artist has prepared a setlist that reflects her career, from her early days in Los Angeles to her evolution as a solo act.

Tickets for the concert are available from €16 on the official ticketing website. The event starts at 20:30, with doors opening at 20:00. There is no age restriction, though the show is aimed at an adult audience.
