Concert for the Día de la Comunitat Valenciana
On 4 October 2026, the Banda Sinfónica Municipal de València will give a concert at the Palau de la Música de València to celebrate Día de la Comunitat Valenciana. The event, scheduled for 11:30 in the Sala Iturbi, will feature clarinetist Joan Enric Lluna as soloist and will be conducted by Cristóbal Soler.
Programme and participants
The concert will include the performance of Rapsodia valenciana for clarinet and band, composed by Miguel Ortega. This piece, written specifically for this format, is part of the Banda Sinfónica Municipal’s regular repertoire for institutional events.
Joan Enric Lluna, an internationally renowned clarinetist, will perform as soloist. Lluna, who combines his career as a performer with orchestral conducting, has served as a jury member in competitions such as the Certamen Internacional de Bandas de Música Ciudad de Valencia and has collaborated with ensembles like the Orquesta de Valencia.
The Banda Sinfónica Municipal de València, founded in 1903, is one of the city’s oldest musical formations. Under the direction of Cristóbal Soler since 2024, the band offers an annual programme that includes symphonic concerts, ceremonial events, and collaborations with guest soloists.
