Closing the Ensems Festival with Sound Creation and Digital Art
The 48th Ensems Festival, Spain’s longest-running contemporary music event, will conclude its 2026 edition with Topografies sonores, an artistic intervention in Plaza Viriat that merges avant-garde sound with digital art. Scheduled for 26 September, the event will bring together students from the Valencia (CSMV) and Castellón (CSMC) Conservatoires of Music, who will present projects exploring the boundaries between performer, technology, and audience.
A Transdisciplinary Experience
The programme features electroacoustic concert music, sound art installations, and interactive audiovisual performances, where sound intertwines with light, imagery, and space. According to the festival’s official programme, the projects reflect acoustic research, software design, and transdisciplinary experimentation, with a focus on mindful listening and redefining collective experience in the digital age. After the performance, the festival will hold its closing party in the same venue.
Festival Context
Ensems, organised by Les Arts and other Valencian cultural institutions, runs from 17 to 27 September 2026 across various city venues. This year’s edition, featuring 14 concerts and parallel activities, centres on the transformation of contemporary music and its role in today’s society. Topografies sonores stands out for its innovative approach and its connection to the training of future creators.
